Whatsapp is becoming the most popular messenger in today’s era. It is attracting people attention because of so many reasons. That includes Performance, Media transfer, Data optimization and Disk space optimization. One of the main reason is its security. Whatsapp is securing its data on the network and data on device on daily basis. Where many of humans still want to decrypt the database stored on device for some own purposes. This guide will show how to decrypt Whatsapp database on non-rooted devices.

Decrypt whatsapp database:

Whatsapp database is encrypted using an encryption key that is stored on Android system folder. Where that folder is not accessible to normal users. To get that key, you need to root your android device. That can also violate security of device and can also void warranty. Most of the guides will tell you to root your phone. Hence you still got a way to get that key for decryption. First of all, you need to download Whatsapp Key DB Extractor. Once downloaded, Extract package. Extracted folder contains some folders and files that contains following files too. WhatsAppKeyDBExtract.bat WhatsAppKeyDBExtract.ps1 If you’re running windows on your computer, you need to run “WhatsAppKeyDBExtract.bat”. I’m using Linux platform, so i’ll continue it that way. Hence the process is same after android connectivity. Extract package and open it. Open terminal in current directory by right clicking in folder and select “Open in Terminal”. Type ‘./’ in the terminal. Because of permissions, you might get permission denial error. But you can change permission by the following command: chmod 777’ After executing this command, type ‘./’. It will run the program as following: How to decrypt Whatsapp Database on Non-Rooted Devices After it, connect android device to your computer and enable USB Debugging on device. On connectivity, Mobile phone will prompt ask permission for your Computer MAC debugging option. By allowing it, you’ll see Following steps being performed in your terminal: How to decrypt Whatsapp Database on Non-Rooted Devices After performing steps, you’ll see on mobile. There will be a prompt for “Full Backup”, that will actually backup your whatsapp data from your mobile phone to your computer. How to decrypt Whatsapp Database on Non-Rooted Devices Enter some password for encryption of Backup and Press “Backup My Data”. Wait for few seconds to few minutes because backing up is in process. Once completed, you’ll get prompt on mobile screen and backup screen will disappear. In terminal, insert the passwordthat you used for backup in mobile phone. After inserting password, Program will start decryption of database. You need to wait for few seconds, until the decryption is in processing. How to decrypt Whatsapp Database on Non-Rooted Devices When decryption is done, there you’ll see following notification on Terminal: How to decrypt Whatsapp Database on Non-Rooted Devices Press enter and open WhatsApp Key DB Extract folder. You’ll see “Extracted” Folder. Following files will be in that folder.

  2. chatsettings.db
  3. msgstore.db
  4. wa.db
  5. whatsapp.cryptkey
In these files, “msgstore.db” is your decrypted database containing your chats and media tracks and “whatsapp.cryptkey” is your database encryption key. You can save key file for future use.

But Transferring Emails from Outlook to Thunderbird is one of difficult task because Outlook’s data file format (.pst) is incompatible with Thunderbird. Following article will guide you how to transfer emails from Outlook to Thunderbird.

Transfer Emails from Outlook to Thunderbird:

Thunderbird supports .mbox file format. It doesn’t import emails directly from Outlook data file or using other utility. There are many paid softwares available for this purpose. But a very simple trick can help you transfer all your emails. So, Let’s start. Make any free email account. For me, Yahoo was the best for this purpose. If you have one already, your time is saved. Open Outlook application. And configure your yahoo email account on IMAP configuration. Go to newly configured mailbox. You can create new folder with the names to keep track of emails, or you can move your emails directly to Inbox and sent items. Just go to your mailbox that you want to transfer from Outlook to Thunderbird. Select your emails, and move it to desired folder in Yahoo mailbox. You can move your folders also. And let it synchronize. It’ll take time depending upon your emails data. You can check the status of synchronization by pressing F9 on outlook. Once synchronization is done, you can close outlook. Open Thunderbird, and configure Yahoo email box. And let all your emails synchronize in Thunderbird. Once emails are loaded, Move your emails in local folder. And also you can configure your other email accounts and move your emails to concerned mailbox. To speed up the process, do MultiTasking. Open Outlook and Thunderbird side by side. Configure Yahoo account on both clients and let it synchronize at the same time. In time, you’ll get your emails transferred from Outlook to Thunderbird.

How to turn WebApplications to Ubuntu Applications

Ubuntu provides the WebApp container to run any URL through terminal. It runs a proper session and store cookies. I’ll tell you how to use WebApp Container. Open Terminal by pressing ctrl+alt+T or by ubuntu dash. Run the following command in terminal: webbrowser-app [url] –fullscreen In the above command,
  • webbrowser-app is webapp container.
  • [url] is the Website Address. Like ‘’,’’
  • –fullscreen is parameter to run the application in fullscreen mode.
When you’ll run the following command, webbrowser-app will be open in fullscreen mode. Whatever the url passed, site will be displayed on screen. You can make the shortcut file. And run webbrowser-app by just clicking the icon like other applications. Follow up the process to create shortcut file. In the Shortcut file information, replace the above mentioned command in ‘Exec’ parameter. Entry will be shown in unity dash. You can run the WebApplication directly from unity dash.

Linux, Ubuntu

Most of the applications on Ubuntu comes without installer package. Installer packages automatically install the shortcut for the ease to run the application from unity dash. Where without installer packages, you just need to extract the package and run the executable file. Therefore, whenever you need to run the application, you will have to go to extracted package directory and run the application by executing run file.

How to create .desktop shortcut

Following this articles, you will know how to make and add custom shortcut for non-installer packages of applications.

First of all, create an empty document in a folder. Suppose it’s desktop folder. Right click on your desktop, select ‘New Document’ and click on ‘Create new Document’.

Name it whatever you like ending with ‘.desktop’. It is always suggested to use the application name.

Save it and open the file in editor to update the information. Information about shortcut is as following format.

[Desktop Entry] Version1.0Shortcut file for Application Name=XyZ Comment=We are making shortcut for some random applications Exec=/home/ *application Directory* / *File to execute* Icon=/usr/share/icons/Humanity/apps/32/test.png Terminal=false Type=Application Categories=Utitlity;Development;Programming

Some notes:


  • Should be 1.0, it refers to the .desktop file version, not to the program version.


  • The name that should be displayed on the menu.


  • The full path to the executable. No need to use ‘.’, it just means the current dir


  • The dir that will be set as current when the entry is run. You usually don’t need to set it, but I have added it just in case. It is the same as using ‘cd’ in your command line


  • The path to the icon file that will be used for the file, it’s likely that the one that you put doesn’t exists, I have changed it for a generic one. You should change this to the file that you want the icon to use. It is the best practice to copy the image to System icons directory as mentioned already in the format text.


  • Specifies the kind of files that this program is able to open. I’ve left it empty.


  • Only needed for some programs, It is usually needed by java programs but only set it if you notice some problems.

To use the desktop file from the Dash you will need to copy it to /usr/share/applications for any user to be able to use it or to ~/.local/share/applications (where ~ means your user directory) if you just want it to be available for one user.

To copy desktop file to /usr/share/applications, you need the administrative permissions. Learn how to get Administrative Permissions.


Linux, Ubuntu

Root is a role for user in linux that gives you permissions to change, modify and remove Operating system files. Normal user is not allowed to open, edit and change the system files. Linux gives you the full power to modify the OS as you want, for which ‘Root’ is provided. To use the root, you need to set root password first.

On fresh installation of Ubuntu, you need to set root account by setting its password. You can simply set the root password by running a simple command.

To set root password:

Open Terminal by pressing ctrl+alt+T or by unity dash.

Type following command in the terminal:

sudo passwd

Root Password on Linux

It will prompt you to enter current User Account Password and, then Enter and Re-enter the password for root. Terminal will not show you the typing indications, so type your password by keeping it in mind. Once you entered, password will be updated.

Now you can use ‘root’ roles by typing the following in the terminal:


It’ll prompt the password for the root. Enter the previously updated password for root.

Linux, Ubuntu
Wine is an application that runs Windows Applications on Linux. Wine is under development, therefore every Application will be working perfectly through wine but there are many that are functioning properly. Linux is an awesome Operation System but it lacks software catalog. And most of the times, you’ll not find compatible version of different software for Linux. Wine provides a platform to run Windows Applications on Linux. This guide will tell you, how to install wine on ubuntu. Wine Team announced stable version of Wine 1.8 and also provided the packages for multiple version of Ubuntu. You can download and install wine 1.8 by adding official repository of Wine Team.

Install Wine on Ubuntu

Open Terminal by pressing CLT+Alt+T or you can open it by dash. In terminal, Copy and paste following PPA Command and Press Enter: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa

If it prompts, Type your password and Press Enter. Password will not display activity, so keep typing your password with words in mind.

install Wine on ubuntu


When key is added in the repository list, update the package cache by using following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating the cache, install wine 1.8 by copying and pasting following command to terminal and press Enter.

sudo apt-get install wine1.8 winetricks

Wine packages will be installed. Open winetricks from the unity bash and install the windows components as required. 

For 64-bit OS version, enable the 32-bit architecture:

sudo dpkg –add-architecture i386


Now you can download and run any Windows application in ‘Wine Program Loader’. As it is under development on daily basis, many applications may not work. But still it provides large number of applications to run on Ubuntu.

Domain name or Host name is used for virtual host in a computer. It can give a specific domain name to your website on localhost or a direct route to your specific folder containing website on localhost. By this, you can access every web folder with specific domain name. We need to set vhosts(Virtual Hosts) in configuration folder of Apache2. Go to the directory: /etc/apache2/sites-available For every vhost you will have to make a configuration file in this directory. In the vhost configuration you can set your document root. The name of the file must end with .conf E.g.: /etc/apache2/sites-available/mysite1.conf Where “mysite1.conf” is the name of file. You can change “mysite1” to your desired name. Open it in editable mode. And copy the following lines into the file and save. <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName anything.local DocumentRoot “/var/www/html/yousite1 </VirtualHost> In these lines, “anything.local” is the domain name that you want to set for site in folder /var/www/html/yousite1. “yoursite1” is the name of folder that you want to access using your domain name. Now enable your site with: sudo a2ensite mysite1.conf And now restart Apache2 to get it working. Command: service apache2 restart Then edit your /etc/hosts file. Just paste the following line on the end: anything.local Now you can access your site with http://anything.local

Who doesn’t need a good media center these days? With all the input types that the average television set must deal with, a simple box of switches no longer suffices for turning streams of bits into the beautiful programs that will leave you dazed and entertained for days on end. This Project doesn’t require much in the way of hardware hacking (for either the electronics or the case), though you’re free to let your creativity run wild on the case design if that’s your thing. One way or the other, though, you’ll learn a great deal about standard input and output methods, basic switching, and dealing with storage. And at the end, your house will be the one everyone wants to visit when sports season is in full swing.

You know those great shots in movies when the camera smoothly moves from one side of the scene to another? When you’re ready to put a lot of things together, this project is a good way to do it. A (much larger version of a) dolly like this one is how it’s done. There’s a little bit of hardware involved but it’s nothing dramatic.

Though the shots you can get with this rig are dramatic, indeed.
