Does Carbonite back up Microsoft Teams messages?

Coverage varies by the current OpenText cloud-to-cloud product and contracted SKU. Teams files can reside in SharePoint or OneDrive, while chats and channel messages use different services. We verify each required Teams object and restore method in current vendor documentation before quoting it.

What's the difference between Microsoft's retention and Carbonite backup?

Microsoft Purview retention is configurable governance, native Microsoft 365 Backup is a separately activated recovery service, and an OpenText cloud-to-cloud product can provide an independent recovery option for supported workloads. We map all three controls without assuming a fixed retention period or universal recovery scenario.

Is Carbonite compliant with UAE data protection laws?

A backup product is not compliant on its own. We document applicable product security, access, retention, processing location, contracts, audit, restore, deletion, and transfer controls so they can support the organisation’s wider UAE PDPL and sector-specific programme.

How long does the initial backup take?

Initial protection time depends on data volume, item count, change rate, network capacity, throttling, service limits, and the selected product. We measure a representative pilot and document any vendor-supported seeding or acceleration option before making a timeline commitment.

Can we restore individual files or only full restores?

Restore granularity varies by product and workload. Before deployment, we verify whether the contracted service supports the required file, folder, mailbox, site, application, or system recovery and include representative tests in acceptance.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing depends on the current product, protected endpoints, servers, users or data, retention, term, support, and managed-service scope. We provide a current itemised quotation after the backup audit rather than relying on legacy public pricing models.
