What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?

Cat6 supports 1Gbps at up to 100m and is the minimum standard for new office installations. Cat6A supports 10Gbps at up to 100m and uses larger-diameter, more tightly controlled cable — typically at 15–20% higher material cost. We recommend Cat6A for server room connections, inter-rack links, and uplink runs, and Cat6 for desktop outlets where 1Gbps is sufficient.

Do you run fibre optic cabling?

Yes. We install OM3/OM4 multimode fibre for intra-building backbone connections between server rooms and distribution frames (10GbE to 40GbE capable). For inter-building or campus runs over 100m, we use OS2 singlemode fibre. Fibre terminations are LC-LC or SC-SC depending on the equipment port type.

How long does a cabling job take?

A typical 20-outlet office fit-out takes 1–2 days for cable pulling and termination, plus 1 day for testing and documentation. A 100-outlet installation typically takes 4–5 days. We work flexibly — after hours or on weekends — to avoid disrupting your operations.

Can you cable a new office fit-out from scratch?

Yes. New office fit-outs are our most common cabling project. We coordinate with your fit-out contractor for first fix (cable tray and conduit before walls are closed) and return for second fix (cable pulling, termination, and cabinet build) after plastering and ceiling installation.

What brands of cabling do you use?

We primarily install Panduit, Legrand, and CommScope — all Tier-1 structured cabling brands with 15–25 year system warranties when installed by certified contractors. We avoid no-name cables that degrade in UAE heat and fail TIA-568 testing. All materials are sourced from UAE-authorised distributors.

Do you provide cabling documentation after the job?

Yes — always. Our standard handover pack includes: (1) an as-built cable schedule mapping every outlet ID to its patch panel port, (2) Fluke DSX test results for every installed run, (3) a rack elevation diagram showing equipment placement, and (4) a floor plan showing outlet locations. This documentation is essential for future IT work.

Site Survey & Design

We survey the premises with floor plans: outlet locations, cable routes, comms room location, riser shafts, and any ceiling/wall access constraints. We produce a cabling layout drawing and cable schedule showing every run before work begins.

Material Specification & Quotation

We specify brand-consistent cabling (Panduit, Legrand, or CommScope) and provide an itemised quote: cable (Cat6/Cat6A/fibre), outlets, patch panels, cabinet, cable management, and labour. No hidden costs.

First Fix — Containment

Our engineers install cable trays, conduit, and trunking along agreed routes. This phase is coordinated with fit-out contractors for new builds to ensure cable management is built into the structure before walls are closed.

Second Fix — Cable Pulling & Termination

Cables are pulled through containment to outlet boxes and the comms room. Outlets are terminated (RJ45 keystone jacks or Ethernet faceplates) and patch panels are loaded. All outlets and patch panel ports are labelled to the cable schedule.

Cabinet Build & Active Equipment

We build the comms rack/cabinet: patch panels installed at the top, 1U patch panels, PoE switches and servers below, PDU at the base. Patch leads are dressed and labelled. Cable management fingers and Velcro ties maintain a clean installation.

Test, Certify & Document

Every run is tested with a Fluke DSX analyser to the appropriate TIA-568 standard. Failing runs are re-terminated or re-pulled. A test report and as-built cable schedule are delivered to the client on project completion.
